Founded in 2012 by legendary music and media producer Spencer Proffer and veteran newspaper publisher Judith A. Proffer, Padaro Press is an imprint of Huqua Press that curates popular culture titles.

Padaro Press launched with The Empowerment Mindset by internationally acclaimed motivational speaker Calvin Helin, followed by The Hillary Effect by political blogger Taylor Marsh. In 2014 we released Places by actor and intrepid traveler Thaao Penghlis. Publishers Weekly called it "a captivating memoir full of bucket-list worthy adventures."

In 2016 Padaro Press will release the e-book Off the Record by Graham Nash and the debut novel by renowned theatre critic Steven Leigh Morris, Fowl Play.

We have teamed with Open Road Media to facilitate select titles in the digital world and their reach and expertise assures relevancy and availability in all reader formats.

Padaro Press is named after a magical stretch of Pacific ocean beach just south of Santa Barbara, California. A place we've spent memorable and meaningful afternoons with Huqua and Quincy—namesakes for parent company Huqua Press. A place where dolphins and whales dance offshore, where friends and family gather and where quiet contemplation is accompanied by the majesty of the setting sun. Padaro beach sparkles, and we hope our titles do as well.

Spencer Proffer is a highly regarded media producer and strategist with a long history of connecting with audiences. His productions have garnered Academy, Golden Globe, Emmy, Grammy and Tony awards and nominations. As a music producer, Spencer has sold millions of gold and platinum records. He will use the Padaro Press platform to create a pioneering publishing paradigm for both Padaro Press and Huqua Press titles, bridging media and manuscripts by bringing pages to life on screen, on devices and even a live event.
